Non-Original / Bootleg - Pretty Armor


While we hardly see Kotobukiya plastic kits ended up with many bootleg (Zoids affected) release, the Frame Arms Girl, Gigantic Arms and M.S.G weapons are the latest and currently available for pre-order (around US$35.00) and pending release with different sets in June from several online shops in Hong Kong and China. Please take note the bootleg version name is called ‘Pretty Armor’ and not officially released by Kotobukiya.

From the looks, there are some modifications to the design and mix with M.S.G weapon parts if I’m not mistaken. The quality of the plastic kits is unknown. As usual, do not support bootleg and advise buying at your own risk. It also quite interesting to see if Kotobukiya going to lawyer up soon against the copycat in China since they have official factory and shops there. Anyway, enjoy the photos and some kits assemble quite interesting check out for ideas.

    I remember seeing a lot of bootlegs of the Unite Sword and Strong Rifle being sold in small toy shops years back. So not really surprised this happened. Anything can get bootlegged if it's popular enough. And manufactured at factories in China. XD

      the bootleg weapons released comes from Dragon Momoko I last cover, they got shut down rumors by Bandai. Since kotobukiya haven't take any action so the folks in China probably think its safe to bootleg their products. We shall see how it goes.

      That Bandai shut down didn't amount to much since DM has been back for awhile now under the new name "M.J.H".

    These figures caught my attention first time I saw it. I was like "Isn't this way too similar to FA Girls?". Took me few moments to realize it is actually a bootleg. Some of the design is admittedly pretty good (like the last one in this blog), but I personally don't like their colors. They looked odd. So does Ver-1's face. Also, some of the example in the picture(s) are just straight up Innocentia with different colors and equipment.

    (a little late to comment but whatever) I actually own one of each of these kits and I will say this, the quality is actually pretty good with only a few small things here and there that can be dealt with easily, the plastic quality is also pretty good but in my opinion seems a tiny bit softer so it is very easy to sand down nubs, as for originality the first ver (light blue with blond hair) is a mix of innocentia (body and hair), archetect (armor parts), and hresvelgr (face plates), and the equipment parts are a mix of m.s.g kits, the only original parts on it seem to be the grey forearm and shoulder parts as well as the swords (I didn't find any kits that had them so they may or may not be original), and it seems that for the base body nothing changes between all 4 of them only the equipment parts change (weapons/accessories), all in all though they are pretty decent kits, I rate them 9/10.

      about PA ver.1, I am quite sure that forearms and swords are remade based on Bandai's prototype, and detail than the original!
