Sugo! LED Shooting Studio for Hobbies L (Premium) Review

Sugo! LED Shooting Studio for Hobbies L (Premium) is a new replacement for my Orangemonkie Foldio2. I find the Foldio2 stickers that hold the magnet starting to peel off after less than one year of usage and the wrong guideline for putting up the two led lights positioned at the front. Not to mention, I was screwed over after purchase, they announce an improvement and better version of Foldio2 with almost the same price. I decided to stop looking at Orangemonkie products and search for an alternative.

The retail price is 6,480 JPY, which is cheaper than Orangemonkie Foldio2 Plus depending on the exchange rate for JPY. For this purchase, I am using a discount coupon for the PO to lower the price further. But do take note that, the single-item shipping fee is quite high for the portable photo studio, especially for those of us who only have the DHL option. This is why I hold out for so long (starting in June) to get it shipped until last month.

Doyusha - Sugo! Hobby Desktop Cleaner

Finally got me a Sugo! Hobby Desktop Cleaner for my model work desk. I have been wanting to get one for a long time cleaning the desk filled with cuts plastic and dusty powder from the cutting mat. what you see here is not something new in the market. You will find a similar design (copy) from a different brand when you shop at Amazon etc.

Doyusha version is much cheaper, 1,200YEN, and friendly to ship for international buyers because this is not a USB charging type instead it uses two AA batteries to operate. It works (demo video below) really well for me and has the ability to clean the filter which plus for maintenance.

Doyusha - Sugo! Hobby Lighting Base (A4 Version) Review

Doyusha is a Japanese toy company that released quite a number of toys over the years and their A.T.K Girl product has been gaining popularity. While I was browsing their product in Hobby Link Japan. I notice quite an interesting product release from the hobby supplies line so I grab it using my discount coupon.

The Sugo! Hobby Lighting Base is advertised for photography as background lighting. But it also can use as a support light for drawing arts. It comes in two versions, the A5 (1,980YEN) & A4 (2,980YEN) size with one micro USB cable. Both have the same three adjustable brightness level simply by touching the power button logo. I personally find the brightness level is acceptable, however, the A4 size doesn't seem to be enough to fill the empty cap of my photobooth. Hopefully, there will be an A3 version in the future.

Recommendation: 👌

Only buy if you really need it. Depending on what kind of items you planning to use for a photo shoot or if you are an artist. It can be a very good optional support for portable photography background for a night shoot. You can run it on any laptop device or power bank.
