FA Mechanic - May Listing Arrangement & Cleaning

Pff...man, the COVID-19 definitely going to last another year from the look of it. Toys and shipping fees increase a lot lately so I have to thank dalong.net for uploading the latest scan manual, allowing everyone to download freely especially for my basic translation work (using Google 😎etc) for the FA mechanic page. I am currently focusing some of my time on the XFA-CnB Bergflinker translation to connect some bit of story here and there.

Yeah, it's the code that caught my attention while working on a pricing spreadsheet. I was like, hey, wasn't the code that actually belongs to the Moon Camp faction? Well, it turns out that XFA-CnB Bergflinker is just signature code use in the war against Guff fraction. Another interesting bit was Bergflinker is a custom unit installed using JX-25 parts, allowing it to transform into a simple flight form. The Frame Arms inside itself is an O. Cutlass and the OEM specification are no any different than Ji-Dao/Lei Dao. It just the head and body design appearance different. Kotobukiya did left out the code for O. Cutlass. Lastly, Original Cutlass was supposed to be the one to enter the mass production FA based on YSX-24 Baselard, instead, SX-25 Cutlass was selected. I am trying to understand the story of these 'upper management' arguments and the decision.

For fun, I also decided to load up Shingen manual in the translator and was surprise to find out how the heck did it end up in Cloud Century universe. The FA war is suddenly over too and then a battle complex pops up. The story itself really sound like a hint that Kotobukiya planning to end Frame Arms series in the future very soon.

  1. Interesting...can you elaborate on why you think Frame Arms might be ending?

Also, a bit off-topic, but the Discord link in the sidebar seems to be broken.

    1. For one, I can think of Kotobukiya knows the Frame Arms series failed to get an audience or attention after a long presence in the overseas market. Probably it didn’t do well in sales too, the official FA website never came back until today and little promoting effort (only the FA community keeping it alive). You can see them shifting their strategy on Hexa Gear, Frame Arms Girl, Megami Device that continue to grow and strong in the current competition.

  2. Someone else read the Shingen manual and told me a different story; that the FA war ended, and the FAs serve no purpose, and that they were used in underground gambling fights, then busted by the government then turned into legalized competitive sport. Shingen being one of the competitive sport Frame Arms.

    1. I mean if they want to work the story into a BattleBots underground fighting deal that be pretty cool. I thought Shingen was just some randon idea the Koto boys cooked up. Didn't know it was part of the story. (Good kit though if ya haven't built it yet)

  3. Thank you for your effort on bringing FA info. It's hard to get it. So I can understand about Koto ending the line, guess that Bandai's 30mm is eating it's cake. Maybe they want to focus on Hexagear?

    1. 30mm are terrible designs compared to Frame Arms. Koto just hoping for it to catch on instead of getting an anime tie-in to seek its line wasn’t a bright strategy.
