The Type 32 guided missile (Improved Hawk) is a large-scale missile developed for intercepting landing craft invading from the Moon plant in Cloud Century 210. It was originally an armament developed on the assumption to be mounted only on Type 32 Gourai.
Although the Type 32 Gourai equipped with Improved Hawk produced great results at the beginning of its introduction, the unforeseen problem in the transportation cost at the time was triple and short operation period after the introduction of Type 38 Ryurai Kai which has long-range artillery OEM specifications. The concentrated production at the beginning of the war also resulted in the mass inventory of improved Hawk left unused in the warehouse.
In Cloud Century January 212, the Earth Defence Agency modify the Type 32 guided missile (Improved Hawk) so that it can be installed on other Frame Arms aircraft other than the Type 32 Gourai with extremely slight adjustments such as modularization of the launcher and installation of a tracking function on the missile body.
