One of my favourite designed heavy weapon units is the Exceed Binder. This unit is still packed with more stuff and playability features after 8 years of being released with a retail price of 900 YEN. A transparent version was released in the retail market under Weapon Unit Assort 02 Sharp Set Clear Ver in 2016. And then the reuse design goes on to create a new character known as Bullet Knights Exorcist/Exorcist Widow for the Megami Device series today.
What is so special about this Exceed Binder design is that it comes with two defensive and offensive functions. You can freely transform into a shield booster or layered shield for defensive mode, and a cannon or big scissors (connect with the articulated arms) for an offensive mode. The set also comes with a backpack unit and four separate arms, fully articulated using slide rails and PC parts, allowing you to mount any weapon units or any compatible 3mm connection points. The Kotobukiya demonstration shows it can connect up to four Exceed Binder using six arms with a single backpack unit. Of course, you can go further than four if you wish.
This is no limit to what you can do with Exceed Binder, most modellers use the parts for kit bashing which you can find featured in Frame Arms Modeling Guide 2 and Hobby Japan Modeling Master Frame Arms.
